The 2016 Alaska Marine Science Symposium begins on Monday, January 25. The morning session will feature the Communicating Ocean Sciences workshop. The daily agenda is available online. The official opening plenary takes place Monday afternoon and includes invited keynote addresses. Poster sessions will take place on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Many partner organizations host workshops in the evenings and on Friday, January 29.
The symposium kicks off on Monday morning at 8 AM with the Communicating Ocean Sciences Workshop until noon and Keynote address for the rest of the afternoon. Tuesday presentations will focus on the Arctic Ocean, Wednesday presentations focus on the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands, Thursday presentations focus on the Gulf of Alaska and Friday is filled with workshops.
The registration fee is $100 per individual. Exceptions to the fee include: students, K-12 teachers, attendees of the opening day only (January 19), allowances per sponsorship level, and volunteers. The nominal registration fee allows AMSS to continue offering a level of exceptional hospitality we enjoy providing guests. Registration is open until January 15.
