TheCook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council (CIRCAC) scholarship program offers the Captain Barry Eldridge Memorial Scholarship for Maritime Studies and the James Carter Memorial Scholarship for Environmental Studies.
Eligible candidates includeIf graduating seniors or recent graduates of a Cook Inlet area (Anchorage, Kodiak, Nikiski, Ninilchik, Kenai, Soldotna, Hope and Homer) high school, or current college enrollee; Alaska residents; students residing in the vicinity of Cook Inlet; and pursuing a college or vocational school course of study focused on, or related to, environmental sciences, maritime studies or spill prevention/response.
Until his death in October 2012, Capt. Richard “Barry” Eldridge was an integral part of the CIRCAC family. He served as a valued public member of the Prevention, Response, Operations and Safety (PROPS) committee for 17 years.
James Carter previously served as Executive Director of the CIRCAC Board of Directors.
