AOOS Board Member Mike Castellini shared his passion for marine research with the Center for Ocean Science Education Excellence (COSEE) in a recent interview posted on the COSEE Alaska website.
Castellini is the Dean of the School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, and is the lead PI of COSEE Alaska – the Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence. Castellini has been on the AOOS Board since 2010.

COSEE is part of a national network of center funded by the National Science Foundation to help ocean scientists reach broad audiences with their research. COSEE Alaska was established in 2008. It's theme is People, Oceans and Climate Change, and focuses on bringing together traditional knowledge and western science to share placed-based knowledge of ocean climate change in the north.
