Call to the Public: Submit Info on Beluga Sightings

The Cook Inlet beluga population is under study by scientists to better understand their seasonal patterns and life history.  Due to the small population of this endangered species, assembling observations is challenging.  AOOS is working with others to collect information from the public on beluga sightings which will be shared with NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Services, as well as other federal and state research agencies.

This data collection effort is in collaboration with the Cook Inlet Beluga Whale Photo-id Project, as well as other entities.

Submissions should take less than a minute.  Please send this link to others who may see belugas on a frequent basis.
