Arctic Council: Arctic Cooperation and Collaboration

The ARCTIC COUNCIL: ARCTIC COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION will meet from 11:30am to 1pm in the Quarterdeck, Captain Cook Hotel to hear JULIA GOURLEY, Senior Arctic Official, U.S. State Department, discuss the United States’ role within the Arctic Council in promoting cooperation, coordination and interaction among the Arctic States on issues of sustainable development and environmental protection. She will highlight the scientific work being carried out by the six expert working groups, providing the latest information on the recently signed Search and Rescue (SAR) agreement. The SAR agreement will strengthen cooperation between the Arctic states and improve the way Arctic countries respond to emergency calls in the region.

Lunch will be provided; $20 to attend
