The US Arctic Research Commission this week announced the winners of its first Observing the Arctic Photo Contest. In addition to a Grand Prize winner, six First Place winners were chosen, one for each of several categories relating to Arctic Research. These photos are currently displayed on the USARC website.
Tim Smith of NOAA won the Grand Prize with an image he took on the FAIRWEATHER’s 2012 Arctic recon cruise.
