Alaska Marine Science Symposium – soliciting workshops

Each January, scientists, managers, and others convene at the Alaska Marine Science Symposium held in Anchorage at the Captain Cook Hotel.  This event is the largest scientific conference in Alaska, attracting over 1,200 participants and covering a wide spectrum of topics and ecoregions.  This year’s event is Jan 20-24th.

Interested in Hosting a Workshop?

Please submit your requests as soon as possible, and no later than December 2nd. Submitting early give you a better chance of getting a room that fits your needs.  Once your request has been submitted, please save the link you receive at the end to update anything between now and December 2nd.

Contact Ellen Tyler (Tyler@aoos.org) with any questions, including preliminary requests to hold a space as you figure out your specific needs.

Each request should include:

  • Name of workshop or side meeting
  • Estimated number of attendees(to determine room size)
  • Descriptive paragraph for AMSS program and website (3-4 sentences)
  • Length of session
  • Open to the public (and advertised), or private invite-only

PLEASE NOTE: Audio/visual equipment is not provided except for screens.  Please plan to bring your own equipment, or rent from an on-site tech provider.
